On July 12th, Kohl’s invited our managing partner, Daphne B Latimore, SPHR, HCS, CEC, to attend and speak at their first ever Inclusion and Belonging Summit in Milwaukee, WI. The 2-day event was both empowering and inspirational, with leaders from around the country sharing their knowledge on the impact of DEI.
Daphne was honored to participate in a fireside chat hosted by Chief Diversity Officer, Michelle A Banks, discussing the importance of leading from a place of inclusion.
“Operationalizing DEI means changing the systems so that it becomes so engrained into who we are that we are no longer managing to the letters” said Latimore as she charged the audience to think about the ways in which they want to be seen as individuals and as an organization at large.
As practitioners of the work that it takes to operationalize and engrain culture-building efforts into daily tasks, we certainly love to witness organizations be actionable about developing and valuing their P.E.O.P.L.E. Hats off to Kohl’s and their staff for a job well done in putting this phenomenal event together.
