“Ten years in business means quite a bit to me as a major accomplishment—not so much in the sense that we did it, as there was no doubt in my mind that we would,” Daphne says. “But it really is an accomplishment of taking a vision, stepping into that vision, creating a concept, and then being able to lift people up in their professional journey and develop them into leaders by turning skills into competencies.”
Building the Foundation
Daphne B. Latimore, Founder and Managing Partner, started the firm by addressing two underlying principles that impact workforce productivity. First, people leave managers—not organizations. This concept then posed the question: Are there bad managers, or just underdeveloped leaders? Second, people are an organization’s greatest asset. If that is the case, is the organization’s talent management framework designed to recruit, develop, retain, and empower a positive work experience for people to thrive?
“As a business owner, I’ve had to apply the same skills and competencies that we teach our clients,” Daphne says. “I’ve had to learn to be agile and transformative. I’ve had to learn to take the time and develop the strategy and then implement that strategy.”
Over the past 10 years, through a humanistic and systemic approach to talent management, Daphne and her team have worked to develop the competencies of leaders and team members at all levels—turning stagnant operations into agile organizations that empower and educate their talent in living a purposeful life.
