As the Vice President and General Manager of Enterprise Technology Services, I had the responsibility to transition 14 different corporate acquisitions over the course of 4 years into our technology shared service, as well as several organizational divestitures. With a fairly inexperienced technology management team, we were faced with the challenge of transitioning over 1,000 employees from 70+ sites across the U.S. into our group, with staff transitions conducted at 11 different times during these years. Daphne Latimore and her team did a superb job of handling the human resource activities associated with these transitions….handling everything from the payroll and benefit changes, to the organizational and communication activities associated with moving these employees to my organization. In addition, she provided valuable assistance in mentoring and coaching my management team thru these events, and did an outstanding job serving as a mentor and advisor to me personally.

Another key initiative Ms. Latimore implemented during this time was a business partnering program that provided dedicated HR advisory services to my management team. Since we operate as a matrixed organization, it was critical that we have an avenue to the Human Resources function of the company that understood our mission, goals, and unique human resource challenges. This program provided my team with a consistent conduit to HR, and were invaluable during the staff transitions and periodic staff reductions associated with the centralization of the company’s IT function.
